i would like to be an instructor in the future. i have been snowboarding for the past 8 years, this will be my 9th year. and i have had about 6 or 7 yers of leassons at the loup. my 2 favorite instructors are Rob and Berry.rob is a good pro snowboarder and is a relly cool guy. and berry is also a relly good snowboarder and skier, he subbed in for rob on day and tought me some verry usefull classic techniques. that has given me inspration to become a instructor(not to menton that my sister was a instructor for snoqualme ski resort). i am only 14 years old and will be 16 before i know it, so i will be driving up with my friends a lot. so i relly want to be a instructor in the future.

  2. Nick,
You should let Carlene our Lesson’s Director know that you are interested. I’m sure you would be welcome to start clinicing (learning how to teach & fine tuning the skills) with the instructors. Doesn’t snow sound great on a hot day in July?!

They have a refresher in the fall (November) which is classroom here at the mountain & then start clinicing as soon as we have snow. Be sure to let Carlene know your age, she starting instructing at a very young age herself.
Lets hope we have lots of chair days this winter!!

I am a veteran ski patroller now patrolling at Snoqualmie Pass. I am also a retired high school counselor. I would love to patrol on a mountain more volunteer than paid patrol, and I would love to volunteer at the Loup…. my problem is that I live in Ellensburg, and my wife is still teaching. I would have to commute on the weekends with my gas-guzzling pickup/camper — which I can’t afford to do! Does anyone know of a RV park or another parking place near Twisp or Okanogan where I could park the beast for the winter? I could then commute from Eburg in a smaller car. I am passionate about skiing; I’m passionate about patrolling…. any help appreciated! 509-925-4285
